Do you ever have a big dream and it turns into reality? Welllll, look no further than what my hubby did just for me! He’s been researching like crazy on how to DIY an ice skating rink. Let me tell you that the first rink didn’t go as planned. Here is why: We don’t think the liner held the water very well and we kept losing water. It does take time to put together and luck with temperatures! We waited for three weeks and finally it started to freeze! It became apparent very quickly that the middle was too thin due to the way our concrete is laid out. We were able to skate on the outside edges but realized we needed something better! ⛸
We were a little disappointed with our first attempt so hubs went to work researching and finding what would work best for us. Soooo……we went with EZ ICE. It was costly but we know it will be put to good use through the years. The directions say it takes about an hour to put together. It took us a couple hours to put it together. We are fortunate that we have spring water to fill the rink. We visited Amish Country (if you missed it, you can read that post here) and bought a few pairs of ice skates and hockey skates for our family members. What a great way to enjoy the winter time!⛸🏒. pinterest
